The following email is from Paul Chapin who is part of the IT Department that runs a program where students take summer jobs helping professors develop curricular materials. They are interested in CS 12 students, since you will be practiced programmers by the end of the semester!
Once again in the summer of 2004, Curricular Computing will have full-time job opportunities for students. These jobs will involve working with faculty and Curricular Computing staff on a variety of curricular projects. Some projects will involve scanning images and working on web sites and others will involve some programming. Computer Science 11 will be very helpful experience, but enthusiasm will be equally important.
This year the summer intern program will be eight and a half weeks long, beginning June 2th and ending July 30th. It is a full-time job with an hourly rate of $12.00. There are no benefits, but you are eligible for on-campus housing at your own expense. July 4th is an unpaid holiday.
The program will begin with several days of training and there may be additional training during the summer. The training will include Javascript, Photoshop, PHP and more. All work will be done during normal work hours, Monday through Friday.
To apply, please complete the application by March 1, 2004. If you have questions, please email Paul Chapin.
