Dec-05: Reading -- our final reading -- is posted for Tuesday on the Assignments page.
Dec-01: See the Assignments page for Paper 3, Round 2. Your reviews are due on Thursday night so that they can be returned to their authors and used for the final revisions.
Nov-24: Check the Assignments page for the reading for Tuesday (Nov-28). I hope you are all having a good break!
Nov-15: I have posted the reading for tomorrow on the Assignments page.
Nov-13: First, check the posted reading for tomorrow -- I think I got it partially wrong, so I've also pared it down to three chapters. (Sigh.)
Also, while I will soon post Paper 3 Round 1 formally, I can give you the highlight of it here: Write the complete draft of the paper topic you developed in Round 0. I will be reading and getting feedback to you ASAP, but that feedback will likely be, in most cases, Yes, this is a fine topic, go forth with it. Don't wait for that feedback to get started.
Nov-03: Check the Assignments page. There is both a reading for Tuesday and the initial work for Paper 3. Regarding the later, note that this paper has a Round 0 --- go check it out, because you'll need to do a little investigating and reading for it.
Oct-30: I goofed again. The reading for tomorrow should be Behe, Chapters 4 and 8. (I had previously announced and posted that it was 4 and 7. At least I got the 4 correct.) If you are able to read Chatper 8 instead of 7 for tomorrow, do so, but I don't expect those who finished reading 7 to go back and read 8 at the last moment.
Oct-23: Paper 2, Round 3 is posted on the Assignments page.
Oct-16: Argh! I did it again and didn't post this (although I think I spoke it at the end of class): The reading for tomorrow (Tuesday) is Collins', reading Chapters 4 and 7.
Oct-07: I have also posted the reading for Thursday, Oct-12, on the Assignments page.
Oct-05: I have added, to the Documents page, the handouts from our session with the Writing Center.
Oct-05: I have posted Paper 2, Round 2 on the Assignments page. Go take a look. Once I have all of the Round 1 submissions, I will share with each of you the papers that you need to review.
Sep-28: I have (promptly!) posted reading for Tuesday on the Assignments page.
Sep-24: I failed to post a reading for Tuesday. Rather than try to cram one in now (late Sunday), it seems wiser to alter the usual plan. Here is what we will be doing:
The goal of this change in plans is to leave you more time to read and prepare well for Thursday, and to give some space for making progress with our writing. Please use the time well.
Sep-17: There is a new reading for Tuesday, Sep-19, posting on the Assignments page.
Sep-08: The reading and writing assignments for next week are now posted on the Assignments page.
Aug-12: Welcome to Science and Religion! There are a few key pieces of information that you should know before classes begin:
Our first class meeting will be on Tuesday, Sep-05, at 11:30 am am, SCCE D103. We will spend some time discussing an overview of the class, but we will quickly move into our first discussion, so it is critical that you're present from the beginning.
Before our first class meeting, read the Course Information. This document covers the course topics, expectations, structure, grading, etc. You are expected to have reviewed this document thoroughly.
Sep-05: We had a first good day! Be sure to check out the Assignments page (linked below) to get the listening for Thursday's class.
